ART AV Direct - Passive DI Box

The AV Direct box from Applied Research and Technology is a cost-effective interface for use in audio-visual applications where a stereo signal needs to be introduced into a professional audio system. It is particularly useful when taking the sound from the headphone socket on a laptop or macbook, creating a balanced signal from the unbalanced source and at the same time, filtering out unwanted noise.

The AV Direct creates a summed, mono output from the original stereo source - very useful when there are limited inputs to the audio system. It also has a couple of more unique features including the ability to take the source direct from a loudspeaker feed and a built in rotary level control.
